Barrell Craft Spirits Toasted Vantage: A Limited Edition Worth Chasing

Barrell Craft Spirits is set to release a highly limited edition of its popular Vantage blend on March 5th, with only 330 bottles available online and at their Watterson, Kentucky location. This new expression starts as Barrell Vantage, a blend finished with Mizunara, French, and Toasted American Oak, before undergoing an additional 22-month finish in Grand Cru Limited Edition American Oak barrels from Canton Cooperage. These barrels, seasoned in open air for 48 months and given a custom toast, add another layer of depth to an already well-crafted whiskey.

While Barrell has consistently excelled at exploring unique finishes and blending them seamlessly, the extreme scarcity of this release makes it both exciting and frustrating. Past online releases have sold out quickly, making it difficult for most whiskey enthusiasts to secure a bottle. Given Barrell’s strong track record, this expression is likely to be exceptional, but it raises the ongoing debate about the increasing number of ultra-limited releases versus more widely available options. If you’re interested, be ready on March 5th—this one won’t last long.
