Birdies Bourbon Dinner – A One Of A Kind Experience In Indy
Last night, I had the pleasure of attending another incredible bourbon dinner at Birdies Grillhouse, and as always, it was an amazing time. These events stand out from other bourbon dinners in Indianapolis because they feel more intimate, more interactive, and less formal—allowing guests to truly connect over great whiskey and incredible food. Every time I’ve been, people come for the bourbon but leave raving about the food. This time, we kicked things off with house-made chips and dips, bourbon-glazed wings, and a corned beef slider on a pretzel bun. The main course? Some of the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had—perfectly breaded, seasoned, and crisp. We wrapped things up with a bourbon caramel cheesecake that, in my opinion, is one of the best desserts in town.
Beyond the food and whiskey—featuring pours like Eagle Rare 10, E.H. Taylor Bottled in Bond Rye, and Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel—what makes these events special is the sense of community. I love chatting with Chef Mark about his approach to the dishes, learning from bourbon experts like Rogan from Johnson Brothers, and reconnecting with familiar faces who attend these events time and time again. Birdies has created something truly unique, and if you ever get the chance to attend one of these dinners, I highly recommend it. Big shoutout to the Birdies team for another fantastic night—can’t wait for the next one!
