At a recent whiskey event, I had the chance to try Castle & Key’s Watermelon Peach Sour, and let me tell you—this cocktail was the perfect summer sipper. Served from their cocktail truck on a hot day, it was bright, refreshing, and had just the right balance of tart citrus, juicy fruit, and a smooth rye backbone. If you’re looking for a whiskey cocktail that’s easy to enjoy, this one’s a winner. The best part? Castle & Key shared the recipe so you can make it at home!

Watermelon Peach Sour Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz Castle & Key Restoration Rye Whiskey

• 0.75 oz Sweetened Meyer Lemon Purée (recipe below)

• 0.25 oz Monin Peach Syrup

• 0.25 oz Monin Watermelon Syrup

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.

2. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

3. Garnish and enjoy!

Sweetened Meyer Lemon Purée Recipe

• 15 oz Meyer Lemon Purée

• 9 oz White Sugar

• 2 oz Demerara Sugar

• 0.5 tsp Orange Blossom Water

Instructions:

1. Heat all ingredients together until the sugars dissolve (about 10-15 minutes).

2. Let cool before using. Makes about 20 oz of purée.
